Managing Sub Accounts
BusinessPartners / SubAccounts
Read below or watch this six minute video on managing customer accounts.
The Problem:
If you are in the business of creating maps for others then you will likely end up with several different maps listed in your account.
Along with this list of maps, your account also consists of a list of users on your team who all share access to these maps.
The problem with this simplistic organization is that at some point you will need to give your customer access to his or her map.
And you can't just list all of your customers as users on your account
because that would give each customer access to the maps you made for all the other customers.
The Solution:
The way you manage the above scenario is with the use of Sub-Accounts.
A sub-account is a child account to your main account.
Each child account can have its own list of users and its own list of maps.
By creating a sub-account for each customer, you can manage a seperate list of users for each customer.
The users listed on each sub-account only have access to the map(s) listed on that same sub-account.
But the users listed on the main parent account have access to both the maps on the parent account as well as the maps on the child accounts.
Prerequisites
Before you can create sub accounts you must be setup as a Diamond Maps business partner.
Just call or email and explain to us what you do and we can get you setup.
If you don't see the options described below then you are not yet setup as a partner.
Also, you must be the account manager to manage sub-accounts.
How To Create A Sub-Account
There are two ways to create a new sub account.
How Is Billing Done For Sub-Accounts
There is never a charge for creating additional maps but we do charge for additional users (see FAQ).
We can either bill the customer for their users or bill you. It's your choice. See Partner Types for more on this.
